Vitamin Index

The Vitamin Index gives us a general indication of the balance of certain vitamins in the body based on the results of this blood test.

A high Vitamin Index indicates a level of deficiency or need in one or more of the vitamins reflected in this index, which includes vitamin B12, vitamin B6, folate, thiamin, vitamin D and vitamin C.

Factors to consider are the amount in the diet, the ability to digest and breakdown individual vitamins from the food or supplements consumed, and the ability of those vitamins to be absorbed, transported and ultimately taken up into the cells themselves.
